WHAT MAKES YOU FEEL SAFE?

This is a question that many of us have pondered over the past year while navigating a world grappling with the devastating impacts of COVID-19.

This summer, the young people we serve were asked to share what My Friend's Place means to them. Their answers varied and included support, community, learning, clarity and home. But the young people were unanimous on one point: 

MY FRIEND'S PLACE MEANS SAFETY.

For youth experiencing homelessness, meeting daily safety and survival needs can be a constant struggle, even without the added challenges of the pandemic.

The Safe Haven Program provides 50+ youth each day with low barrier, healing centered care, including showers, meals and clothing. Just as important is the sense of safety, community and belonging that young people find through our Safe Haven Program, making it possible for young people to develop the trust and rapport with staff to engage in more intensive services, like case management, that expedite a young person's trajectory toward stability and self sufficiency.

This October, your gift of support for our Safe Haven Program will be MATCHED, dollar for dollar, up to $75,000, and will provide TWICE the support for young people on their journeys toward a permanent exit from homelessness.
