    For many in our community, the COVID-19 health crisis has been devastating. For young people experiencing homelessness, the COVID-19 pandemic, compounded with the crisis of homelessness, creates an almost unthinkably challenging situation. Our young people’s need for essential care and support is greater now than ever before. We need your help to ensure that these young people can continue to count on My Friend’s Place for vital care, community and connection - especially now.

  • Celebrate Socktober with My Friend's Place!

    On average, My Friend’s Place serves 60-80 young people experiencing homelessness each day, and every young person is offered a new pair of socks and underwear on each visit. Help My Friend’s Place celebrate Socktober by contributing new socks and underwear, to ensure that we will have a steady supply for our youth in the coming months. Our goal is to collect 3,000 pairs this month and we need your help to make it happen!

  • My Friend's Place, Six Months Into COVID-19

    As the world continues to adjust to the "new normal" created by the COVID-19 My Friend’s Place is continuing to provide essential care to youth. While we are limiting drop-in services temporarily, we are still providing youth with meals, clothing and emergency supplies, medical care and assessment, as well as utilizing outdoor space to provide case management services and housing support.

  • The devastating impact of systemic injustice and institutionalized racism can no longer be denied, ignored or excused

    Like so many of you, we are outraged by the continued racism and violence affecting black people here in Los Angeles and across the country. My Friend’s Place stands in solidarity with Black Lives Matter and all who engage in the peaceful rebellion seeking an end to violence, systemic and institutionalized racism and widespread inequities that leave us a weaker, less humane nation.
