S. Mark Taper Foundation Awards My Friend's Place $100,000 Grant

We are excited to announce that My Friend’s Place has been awarded a $100,000 grant from the S. Mark Taper Foundation. This continued partnership with the S. Mark Taper Foundation will support My Friend’s Place in providing a comprehensive continuum of care for more than 1,100 youth experiencing homelessness in our community this year. My Friend's Place engages youth through four high-impact program areas—the Safe Haven Program, the Transformative Education Program, the Health and Well-Being Program and the Intake and Crisis Care Program—ensuring that youth can access the care, opportunities and resources that support their trajectory toward wellness, stability and a permanent exit from homelessness.

“The S. Mark Taper Foundation’s partnership allows My Friend’s Place the ability to swiftly and appropriately resource our continuum of care to meet the existing and emerging needs of our young people,” said Heather Carmichael, My Friend’s Place’s Executive Director. “The Foundation’s support truly strengthens our ability to create opportunities and lasting impact in the lives of youth experiencing homelessness here in Los Angeles.”
