My Friend's Place Wish List 2009

Our in-kind needs are constantly changing, however below is a list of items we most frequently use on an ongoing basis.  Please check back for updates to the Wish List.

Urgent need :  20' x 20' carpet remnant, finished or unfinished

Clothing Closet

We accept the following new or gently used (no holes or stains):

·          men's and women’s jeans (most needed: sizes 8-16 girls and 32-40 guys; some need for 0-4

      and 18-20 girls and 26-30 and 42-52 guys)

·          plain white t-shirts

·     men's boxers (new only)

·          tennis shoes (sizes 12-15)

·          shoelaces

·          rain parkas

·          Men's and women's plus-size interview clothing (dress pants and shirts)

Items we are no longer in need of:  suits and socks.

Education, Employment, and Creative Arts Workshops

We accept the following new:

·          ivory resume paper

·          pocket calendars for 2009

·          writing journals and drawing pads

·          tempera paint (variety of colors, mid-sized bottles)

·          backpacks

·          bus tokens

·          fast food coupons, laundry cards, and Target/Wal-Mart gift cards in $5 amounts

·          movie passes, music gift cards, bookstore gift cards (used to acknowledge youth progress)

Health and Well-Being and Parenting Program

We accept the following new:

·          toiletries (toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, deodorant, etc.)

·          maternity underwear

·          diapers (sizes 4s, 5s, pull-ups)

·          baby formula (powdered preferred)

·          baby wipes

·          learning toys

We accept the following new or gently used:

·          baby clothing (including onesies, baby socks)

·          child's shoes (up to child’s size 10)

·          potty chairs

·          bottles

·          baby blankets

·         fold-up strollers

Due to limited storage capacity, we CANNOT accept the following:

·          furniture

·          appliances (including computers)

·          household items (including TVs) or furnishings

Occasionally we have a young person move into housing, in which case we may be in need of household items.  If you have fully functioning, new or gently used household items that you are interested in donating, please call us first.  Thank you for your understanding.
